1971 Oldsmobile 442 W-30 Tribute
“Following Pontiac's lead, Oldsmobile became the first company in the GM division to begin offering full-size muscle cars in its midsize Cutlass model. Designated the 4-4-2 package, it included the top engine available from Oldsmobile. The name represented the engine's 4-barrel carb, 4 speed manual transmission, and dual exhausts. The Oldsmobile 442 has been best known for its balanced performance, exquisite handling, and the 'W' and Hurst editions that would come out in later years.” - oldsmobilesforever.com
Oldsmobile produced only 110 of its 442 W-30 convertibles for the 1971 model year and only 1,304 1971 442 convertibles in all. Restored and built approximately 25 years ago the owner painstakingly sourced many of the parts used on the factory original W-30.
This Oldsmobile 442 Convertible is finished in Viking Blue exterior with coordinating white stripes running up the Ram Air hood, white vinyl interior and a white power top. The exterior two-stage paint shows very well with good depth and shine. The interior also shows well with no excessive wear with only one minor tear in the driver's headrest. The Rally Pack gauges are working perfectly and mimic the W-30 dash.
The 455 cubic inch motor runs exceptional and provides all the horsepower you will need as you shift through the 4-speed manual transmission which is mated to a W27 ten bolt rear-end.
With a push of a button the power top retracts, and you are ready for open air driving whether showing this beautiful car at a local show or just enjoying a ride, this Oldsmobile 442 W-30 tribute is a pleasure.
