1954 Chevrolet 3100
“The 3100's first year was 1947, when it replaced the older AK-series, which dated back to 1941. The new trucks had more modern, bulkier styling and roomier cabs. The result was the best-selling pickup in the United States during its entire run. Styling changed only in detail up through 1954, when the cab was treated to a one-piece, curved windshield in place of the two panes of flat glass used previously and a new grille was substituted.” -Hemmings
This 1954 Chevrolet 3100 pickup is the recipient of several upgrades and performance features but at the same time utilizing an inline 6-cylinder motor. Although not the original 6-cylinder motor that came in the truck, the motor used is believed to be a 1966 250ci I6 attached to a 5-speed manual transmission.
The light green metallic paint is older than the mechanical upgrades, but it still shows very well with good depth and shine, it has a few imperfections but nothing that would not be expected with a high-quality driver.
The interior has been well upgraded, including a AM/FM CD player.
Chevrolet pickups have always been a desirable segment of the collector vehicle market and this 1954 is no exception with its upgrades, stance, and drivability this pickup is a terrific addition to any collection.
