1961 Chevrolet Corvette
The 1961 Corvette introduced the revised rear styling in addition to the 4 round tail light design. This Corvette has gone through a full mechanical restoration. At which point the body was taken off the frame. The frame was descaled and detailed. The entire suspension was rebuilt or replaced, all new brake components, new brake lines and fuel line including the fuel tank.
The existing non-numbers matching motor was replaced with a more powerful 350 cubic inch motor with new carburetor, manifolds and exhaust. The motor was matched to a rebuilt 4 speed Muncie transmission with a short throw Hurst shifter.
The interior has been upgraded with a soft red leather seating, new carpets and door panels. All gauges work as intended with exception of the clock. The black convertible top is brand new and goes up with ease. There is a hardtop available but has not been restored in any way.
This Corvette is driving on new Firestone wide whitewall tires with correct factory style hubcaps.
This Corvette was originally white but at some point, in its life the color was changed to red with black coves. The older paint has been wet sanded and buffed to get the most out of the existing paint. The paint has some cosmetic imperfections, but it has a great luster.
With restored suspension and new bushing this Corvette drives as new. If you are looking for a great C1 driver and not concerned with numbers matching this is the Corvette for you.
