1964 Austin Healey 3000
The Austin-Healey 3000 was the last of the 'big' Healeys, so-called to distinguish them from the later, more diminutive Sprites. It was equipped with a big 2.9L straight-6 that produced 150hp, not bad for a car that weighed under 2600lbs. The MkIII raised the bar, both in terms of luxury and power.
This numbers matching 1964 Austin Healey MkIII is freshly restored by British car specialists. The car body was brought down to bare metal and the floor-pans were replaced. The body, frame and undercarriage were painted in Gloss Black and present very well. Sixty spoke chrome wire wheels were added at the time of the restoration and accentuate the black exterior.
The new tan leather upholstery and black carpets from Heritage Interiors are in excellent condition and coordinate with the new tan cloth top. The 2,912cc motor runs well, and looks great with the aluminum valve covers and correct components. The vast majority of mechanical components have been rebuilt or replaced including a new braking system, clutch, fuel pump, wiring harness, exhaust system, overdrive harness, and all fluid lines. The twin SU carburetors have been rebuilt and synced to allow for a great driving experience.
The British Motor Industries Heritage Trust shows matching numbers through-out this Austin Healey and is included in the attached photos.
