1952 Triumph 6T Thunderbird
“The above machine has been restored to as near new condition as possible using genuine parts where available. This machine is one of very few 6T “Thunderbirds”, finished in gloss black and named “Black Bird” by the U.S.A. market. It is to exact original specification and has been restored by the undersigned.” - Hughie Hancox
Hughie Hancox, the restorer of this motorcycle in 2008, was the world's best-known restorer of Triumph motorcycles. Hughie's restoration business was based in the city of Coventry England. Sadly, Hughie Hancox passed away in August 2011. This 1952 “Black Bird” is the last motorcycle he restored.
The original, numbers matching, 649cc engine runs great with only 144 miles since it was fully rebuilt. The bike shifts through all 4 gears smoothly and comes to a quick stop. The Gloss Black body is in excellent condition with crisp gold pinstripes. The beautiful shine from the engine flows down the dual exhaust to the 19” chrome spoked wheels.
Extensive shop notes, receipts, and photos of the restoration have been kept and will transferred with the motorcycle.
This 1952 Triumph 6T Thunderbird will be top tier in any historical motorcycle collection and can be comfortably driven as well.
